My Salvation Experience

I came to the United States in 1990 to pursue an education in mechanical aviation. One day, I ran into an old Muslim friend who unbeknownst to me had apparently accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He invited me to his church to watch the Jesus movie, and as I was watching the movie, I was thinking and wondering what Jesus did to deserve all that suffering. While I was pondering this, the Holy Spirit said to my heart, “Jesus died for your sin”. On December 28, 1992 my friend invite me to his home church again and during praise and worship I heard God the Holy Spirit say to me, “you will serve me”. I immediately responded and said, “God, I am not an educated person and I cannot serve you” and the voice never came back.  On February 15, 1993, my friend again invited me to attend his church; and afterwards when I read in the word of God about how the wages of sin is death, I made the decision to surrender my life and receive the Lord JESUS CHRIST as my God and Savior.

Then, I began to realize that God was calling me to a relationship with Him. This call, to return to God and become reconciled to Him, has gone out to all humanity, because it is the Father’s heart that no one should perish, but that all should have eternal life.  The Holy Spirit planted my life’s purpose and ministry as a tiny seed in my heart. The seed sprouted within me creating a strong desire to have the knowledge of God’s word with an equally strong desire to bring many, many souls into the Kingdom of God.

After I accepted, the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I didn’t open the Bible for 22 days. On March 9, 1993, for the first time, for some reason, I opened the Bible to the book of the Prophet Amos 8:11-13. I started to read and I stopped when I read “famine” and I began to think about what that meant.  For the first time, I called the name of Jesus to get understanding about what was to come in those Last Days. I stood on my feet and called on Jesus, and I said, “Lord this couldn’t be in my generation? No, no I will preach your word to my generation.”  Right after I finished saying that, suddenly the Holy Spirit came upon my body like a fire. I started speaking an unknown language and was filled with joy and peace. I did not know what had happened to me.  I did not know who touched me.  At that time, I did not know who the Holy Spirit was. I had never experienced the Holy Spirit in my life. Immediately after the Holy Spirit came upon me, clearly I understood the message of the prophet.

“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord God, that I will send A famine on  the Land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of  hearing the Word of the Lord.  They shall wander from sea to sea, and from North to East; they shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord, but shall not find it. In that day the fair virgins and strong young men shall faint from thirst.” Amos 8:9-13 (NKJV).

I asked the Lord, “What can I do before that day comes Lord?” God is so faithful and He put in my heart what I could do, in Him for my generation, by His grace, for His glory.  At this point, I decided to follow and serve the Lord Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. I began to pray and fasted with the desire to study God’s word and to seek direction from the Lord God. After that, I spent time seeking to know the will of God for my life and learned from the Scriptures how God’s people waited patiently for God’s timing in their lives.

In the summer of 1994, I was attending a community college, enrolled in an aviation class, and the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart while I was in classroom. He said, “Let’s go home, I have a job for you” then I walked out from my class & I never looked back again. To know what kind of job He has prepared for me, I kept praying the whole summer and as usual the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart again, saying I have to go to Bible College to prepare myself for the ministry. In March of 2001, God helped me to start Divine International Evangelistic Ministry.
